GLOBALIZATION IS YOU
The Erasmus Mundus program is a two year Master's that digs deep into journalism, media and globalization. This one-of-a-kind program gathers people from all around the world, from various backgrounds and experiences into one place: Aarhus, Denmark. For one year, teachers, together with 73 students from 40 different countries bring together unique perspectives and skills to reflect on better reporting global change. In the second year, they move on to specialisms in four other European cities: Amsterdam, Hamburg, London and Swansea. This website characterizes the end of the first step and the achievement of their last school task: a gripping story about any challenging topic with a global resonance.
The collection comprises stories that investigate topics as diverse as the business of hunger, identity struggles and domestic violence for men. Travel to the other side of the world to discover more about teenage crime in Brazil, read about sustainable development aid from Nordic countries, or the obsession with ivory in China. Stories will question assumptions about diets and organic food production in Europe, and investigate the future of economic models.
The articles are long features that allow you, the reader, to immerse in fascinating and complex stories to discover local and global perspectives on a particular topic, be it about economics, law, international relations or gender equality. This is also a way to reflect on journalism and go beyond news-stories to question the way society works and touch upon alternative answers.
Enjoy your read,

ANALYTICAL JOURNALISM
The analytical features on this site are made by students at the course of Analytical Journalism in the Master's of Journalism, Media and Globalisation. These stories demonstrate the ability of the mundusian students to create knowledge on complex international issues by consciously applying a range of advanced qualitative tools from social science, sociology, rhetoric and journalism, thereby creating valuable work.
The stories are examples of issue frames created by the students, which nuance a selected news discourse. With these stories the students take on a journalistic role as a deliberative agent adding to the public base for debate and decisions.
Flemming Svith, PhD and Jesper Gaarskjaer, MA
